AbangAbu found that making money or creating wealth during recession will be something that we want to know. And i believe that few tips below can get us started to get to begin our journey. SO enjoy reading and than do sit still but take action by applying it.

Few people realize that getting rich does not just happen by using mathematical and business skills. There is definitely more to that in creating wealth. If you want to get rich, you have to make changes. And the first changes you need to make will be those that focus on self-improvement.

Contentment sometimes represents the easy way out
Sometimes people deliberately deceive themselves by feigning contentment in order to avoid working harder and taking more risks to go for what they really want. Dont try to fake being contented when you’re not. If you want to dream, dream big. If you need to create goals for yourself, make them big enough to incorporate what you want in life. It is okay to start with small steps, but plan goals out far enough to incorporate really big dreams, too, if they are what you want.

1.) Time is Gold

Many people have been taught this adage from day one, but a lot of people are unfortunately not able to appreciate it. Time is precious, and the truly wealthy don’t waste this precious commodity. Instead, they do their utmost to make the most out of their time. If you want to join them at the top, you need to adopt the same attitude.

2.) Get Your Priorities Straight

Decide what you think is most important; do you spend a day at the spa or attend Mandarin Chinese lessons? Create priorities that will help you create wealth. Be honest with yourself and decide which tasks are important and which ones are not. Then prioritize them so that you take care of the important ones first and which can wait if need be.

3.) Start Planning Ahead

Having clear-cut goals and priorities in life is necessary to help you create wealth, but these alone will not do the job. They will only help you if you go on to figure out the next step: As exactly how will you create wealth?

4.) The Only Failure in Life is Failing to DO

Life is complicated, as everyone knows, but don’t let that stop you from getting what you want, which in this case is to create wealth. Of course, you will likely encounter obstacles that may stop you from reaching your goal temporarily, but the only time you will truly fail is when you don’t try at all. You also have to make sure that you try hard enough and that you keep trying even in the face of failure as long as it is feasible.

5.) Give and Take

Be prepared to both ask for favors and give something in return. If you are used to being self-reliant, that is great. But if you are determined to create a business, you need to understand that you will need to work in cooperation with others at least some of the time.

6.) Do not be Too Proud or Stubborn to Take Advice.

If the suggestions and advice offered by others have merit, then go ahead and give the advice a try. Never presume that you know everything or that you can’t learn from someone else. There will always be something new to learn. This lesson can not only help you get rich, but it can help you stay rich and become richer as well.

It is important that you strive to improve how you think, speak, feel, and act, first and foremost. Once these changes have been implemented and have become habit, then concentrate on attaining external goals to reach your main objective of getting rich, and getting rich now!

As an entrepreneur what will make us pass thru difficult time is the passion that we have for the things that we are doing. Look for things that you will do with passion, remember when you lack passion in business that you are in now , there are great chances that business will not survive the current recession.

O= Opportunity

Every reccession brings with them opportunity as well. Always look for new opportunity for you to get involve in. Source for a product that will be in demand at current time and sell it. Look for new target market for your product. There will me abundance of opportunity for those who look out for it. Never ever stay still in recession days but look out for new opportunities. Many business succeed during financial crisis, so look out for opportunities.

W= Willingness

Even with greatest opportunity , to do something or to make an impact on your life or business and the lives of others you must take action. Willingness to carry out the plan, willingness to go extra mile to make things happen. Willingness to be brave and stiking to your plan. Willingness to try out something new . Willingness to take calculated risk. All successfull entrepreneurs are made of this . And it is even more important to have willingness to take action during challengging times like what is happening now. So always have the willingness to do till you make it happen.

E= Energy

You will never get energy by just drinking some tonics, and thats is not the energy i am talking about. It is the inner energy that will make you be strong and unstopable in any situation. In order to get this energy you must be energetic, its just the way it works. So always tell your self powerful affirmations that will make you to have energy and that will make you move forward during recession. So get energy to stay afloat in business.

R= Results

And this is the best time for us , entrepreneurs to evaluate our results before embarking on a change. And with the year 2008 is apporaching its final days, we are moving into 2009 soon. And this is the great time for us to use the 3R method .

Take time to REFLECT all the things that happened to us, the bad and good. What we can learn and what we need to change to make our 2009 better.

REACT to all that happen, if it is good than keep doing it again and if it is not good than react by changing it.

RESTART. If you are not at the place that you wanted or getting the goals that you wanted , than never give up on that dreams and goals but restart by doing it again but maybe diffenrently .

With all this you will get the result that you wanted always.

AbangAbu was in the Kpak Bing Bing for the coming January season2. It was a great expirience as the recording starts at 9 and end at around midnite.

Sure, tough economic times have major impact on buying habits. Pay attention to the shopping mall during prime shopping period. People are saving their way out of it. They focus more on value and results. Or, the time they spend to research on a product before buying increases.

The good news is, even if the recession is here to stay a bit longer, you can survive and prosper by following some of the tips below. Does recession always mean struggling to get the business going? No, don’t buy into the idea. Change your strategy and you’ll see that it isn’t a law like gravity.

Think of how to G R O W your business at this time by using GROW method.. so this week……

G = Get Organized

Get organized by looking back of your sales pattern and your customer based.

Remember the Pareto principle. 20 percent of your customers bring in 80 percent of your revenue. This number varies, it could be 20 percent that brings in 95 percent, but you get the point.

In a downturn, customers are more likely to go with a more trusted source. If you constantly build relationship with your existing customers, more power to you. Otherwise, it’s now the time to reactivate dormant accounts. Stay in touch and let them know if you are interested in working with them. Don’t hard sell and put any pressure on the first contact.

R= Reduce Budgets

By all means, don’t cut on marketing and advertising, but it’s fine to reduce budgets if appropriate. Creative marketers could use some of the low cost to free methods to keep their business out there. Think guerilla marketing.

If existing marketing efforts work fine, keep doing them but if cost is the problem consider them at smaller scales. Complement with other marketing strategies. It may work wonder with diversification

O = Offer Repackaged Product

Repackaging your products to make them available to small budget customers, you still want to emphasize on value and provide measurable results.

Your customers or clients are also looking for ways to cut cost. When business is good and you’re busy, you may have overlook some of the smaller customers who can’t afford what you have to offer at the price point.

Consider repackage your products or services so they become more affordable to another market segment. When business is slow, you need to search alternatives that put extra revenue in your pocket. This is what

AbangAbu had an interesting event with a small group of youth’s from an organization. This youths are very talented and had many ideas.

This is part of social thing that AbangAbu involve in. AbangAbu will be guiding these group to come out with something that they will work on to become successful.

Tuesday AbangAbu had an radio interview with WARNA in the segmen bersama tamu undangan. This week AbangAbu and AB Shaik were discussing about the current economic condition and retrenchment and loss of job that are taking place. We discuss on how to take this and make preparation.

Some of the tips that AbangAbu share :

1. Accept the fact and mentally prepared that you might lose your job

2. Have to check your spending and be careful, Do spend less than you earn.

3. Take some new skills and training so that you will be an asset to the company that you are working.

4.Send new resume and job applications to new firms that might need your service.

5. Be prepared to take any job and dont be to choosy about the jobs .

6. Learn to start business from home at a part time basis.

AbangAbu had and event and Masjid Sultan for another group of 28 families on money skills. It was a great workshop and these group had improved their living standard since the start of the program by ApKIM resources.

AbangAbu had a back to back Bijak Belanja at masjig Kassim. The first group consist of 70pax and second group around 40pax. The workshop was as great as always and guess what AbangAbu enjoy both session.

AbangAbu was so happy to get a complement from a pakcik age more than 60 years old who come to me and told me that this was the first presentation he enjoyed most in his life. Wow that really touched my heart and make AbangAbu to really do it more and more insya allah.

I had an event at Masjid Ansar where i shared my stories in tabung bergoncang workshop for 2 groups . The 1st group age 50 to 80 . This was my second time doing a workshop for this age group. It was interesting as i really learn a lot from that group and we had fun. Many of them was so happy and shared with me they learn new things and it was so cool to learn that they are willing to learn from me. I m atouched.

Second group was the chronically ill with many kind of illness, rather than sharing the money tips i felt that they need motivations and gave them the booster for the to strive in their life and achieve BIG things.

On Tuesday i had an event The Global Entrepreneurship Week launching at Toa Payoh Hub . This is an important event for me as my son Ahshik launch his book 7 Steps to become a young entrepreneur. He is just 12 and i was really proud to saw that event. It is in AbangAbu TV . do check and view it. AbangAbu had a great chance to do the thing that AbangAbu love most , that is creating young entrepreneurs. AbangAbu was given a task to get 12 girls from 3 schools to be involved in a flea market bazaar at Tanglin Mall on saturday. We had great time and the girls shows the confidence and been able to really perform better than what AbangAbu expected… Cheers for the girls age 14 to 15.

I had also done a mini MAP untuk KAYA workshop at Fengsan CC Bedok . It was fun and cool as small group of around 25 pax turn in. The MAEC of The CC would love to conduct a series of MAP untuk KAYA  workshops in the near future. So bedokians MAP untuk KAYA coming to your area so grab the opportunity. And The Program Bijak Belanja with Mendaki and Sense was held at yayasan Mendaki and today was overwhelming response sampai takde tempat duduk in the hall. I felt so sorry for those who had to sit on the mat and i really applaould all of you as it was the most sporting group. It was nearly 200 people and i am sure all of us had fun… And yah those who were there dah gi Joget joget joget….. U know what i mean… So kena joget orang kaya okie. remeber that is the most powerful lesson hahahahaha.

And today i had few people come to me and told me this was the best ever workshop the had ever attended… WOW sedap hati abangabu dengar hahhaha . Yang belum pegi program bijak belanja , next sunday 30th we having it at Masjid Kassin from 9.30am to 1pm so boleh lah register dengan Mendaki …..

This is what happened and of course some other things too yang maybe not really important hahahha. So tommorow Monday …… Just wait for the Marketing  Ideas …

How are you? Its been sometimes already that i get entrepreneurs to be featured here . And this week i get to meet this mother whom i saw few times and i like the energy that she have towards being successful.

I want her to share some of her tips and ideas that might be useful for all of us.

She don’t want her picture to be here anyway… But my advice for entrepreneurs never be shameful to show your face to the world.

1) What kind of business do you have? What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

I am doing supply and trading business. What really inspired me to be an entrepreneur beside the vast potential income is that I can be my own boss and manage my time according to what I realy want , not dictated to me by my boss.

2) Did you need to have a certain mindset to achieve success?

Of course. In doing business you HAVE to have the right mindset. You need to be VERY positive and willing to accept the rejections that come your way as a learning experience to excel in your business.

3) Have you noticed certain advantages to being an entrepreneur?

Yes, being able to maximise your true potential and test yourself to the max. Before being an entrepreneur, I never dreamt of for example mending a booth. I’m a very shy person and very self -conscious. But after sometime, I manage to overcome my shyness and my self esteem improved. Another thing is that when my group of suppliers and traders grow, I feel deep satisfaction because I manage to not only help myself but also others in making a difference in their lives.

4) Is it difficult to get financing for businesses? If so, why and are there any solutions?

Yes if you do not have a good financial background but that should not prevent you from being an entrepreneur. Financial support can come from family members and friends. In my business, for those who have inadequate capital, they can start as low as $39! All they need after that is sheer hard work and prayers.

5) Did you have a mentor to help you get started?

Yes, I would never indulge myself in any business if I do not see any success for those who have done it. My mentor has been in this biz very long and I feel very confident in him to guide me to achieve success.

6) Approximately how much money did you invest before your business became profitable?

I have personally purchase 1 trading volume to start my business. I got back my initial investment by just trading half of my stocks.

7) What resources were most helpful to you when you were starting your business?

My main resource is my mentor cos he was the one who brainchild this trading and supply business. Other information I got are from the internet and from my interaction with fellow suppliers and traders in my business.

What ways have you found to be most effective in marketing your product or service to get sales?

There are various ways that I market my products but most effective is personal recommendation from relatives and friends. Mending booth help to introduce the product to to the consumers and the free trial that I give enable them to be more convinced to purchase the product.

9) What tips can you give others who want to embrace their dream but, don’t have the confidence or feel they don’t have what it takes to succeed?

WHATEVER YOU THINK IS RIGHT! If you think you can do it, you can but if you think you can’t, then you can’t. Confidence can be built with knowledge and sales activities. You must be willing to come out of your comfort zone if you want to embrace your dream.

10) How do you manage juggling the responsibilities of being an entrepreneur?

I’m a mother of four. Juggling responsibilities can be done by prioritising your roles. Do not be so rigid in life. Be flexible and willing to adapt to changes when the needs arrived. During my children exam period, I lessen my sales activities to cater for their needs.I also involved them in my business so that they understand what I’m doing and be more appreciative of my effort to bring comfort to their lives.

11) What’s next for you?

I’m targeting the world to market my product. I am currently negotiating with traders from Brunei and Indonesia. Besides that I am continuously expanding my team to include housewives and students who want to earn extra income.
